Your privacy is important to you…and to us. So we'll protect the information you share with us.
 
This Privacy Policy relates to the personal information that M27editions, LLC (“M27editions”) receives and collects through its web site at www.m27editions.com and other sites owned and operated by M27editions that refer to this Privacy Policy, and through all related technologies, software, and services provided by M27editions, including its apps and its hosted products and services (collectively, the “Services”).
 
This Policy covers both the public-facing marketing web site operated by M27editions (the “Public Site”) as well as Services provided only to registered users. As noted below, certain parts of the Privacy Policy apply only to the Public Site, and certain parts apply only to the Services.
 
M27editions provides Services to educational institutions and other organizations that manage international programs (“Customers”). This Privacy Policy does not impact or change any of the privacy policies, terms, and/or agreements between you and M27editions’s Customer.
 
We encourage you to review any applicable institutional privacy policies, terms and agreements to see how your personal information may be used or disclosed by that institution.

2. privacy shield participation.

M27editions participates in and has certified its compliance with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework and the Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework.   The Privacy Shield Framework relates to the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union and Switzerland to the United States.  If there is any conflict between the terms in this Privacy Policy and the Privacy Shield Principles, the Privacy Shield Principles shall govern with respect to personal information transferred from the European Union and Switzerland to the United States.  To learn more about the Privacy Shield program, and to view our certification, please visit https://www.privacyshield.gov/.
 
With respect to personal information received or transferred pursuant to the Privacy Shield Framework, M27editions is subject to the investigatory and enforcement powers of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”).

3. NOTICE OF INFORMATION COLLECTED AND USE.

We will inform you when we need information that personally identifies you (personal information) or allows us to contact you or provide you with the Services. Generally, this information is requested when you register for our Services or when you fill out our contact form on our Public Site, or sign up for our newsletter or a webinar.

M27editions may receive certain information about you from Customers during the implementation and provision of Services. For example, Customers may provide basic student or staff information, manually or through integration with student information or human resource systems, when they are setting up the Service for their use.

You may be able to log into our Services using single sign-on providers or single sign-on features of other products. These products will authenticate your identity and may share certain personal information with us such as your name and email address.

M27editions may also record information about how individuals access our Services. This information is typically not personally identifiable and may include internet protocol (IP) addresses (or the DNS name associated with it) of the individual's computer, the web site from which the individual linked to our Services, and the browser software the individual is using to access our Services. This information is used in the aggregate to administer computer systems and to make improvements to our Services. 

M27editions uses cookies and other technologies on our Public Site and as part of the Services for user session management and to provide a better user experience, including customization of content display. A cookie is text data that a website transfers to the individual's browser from a web server that is stored on the individual's computer hard drive. Cookies cannot be used by themselves to identify individuals.

4. CHOICE.

We will inform you when we need information that personally identifies you (personal information) or allows us to contact you or provide you with the Services. Generally, this information is requested when you register for our Services or when you fill out our contact form on our Public Site, or sign up for our newsletter or a webinar.

Specific to our AlertTraveler mobile application, M27editions will capture your GPS location to an accuracy of within 5 meters. This information is only updated under 2 conditions (a) you move more than 25 km, or (b) you have not updated your location within 24 hours. The capture of your location information is controllable by the user within AlertTraveler.

M27editions may also record information about how individuals access our Services. This information is typically not personally identifiable and may include internet protocol (IP) addresses (or the DNS name associated with it) of the individual's computer, the web site from which the individual linked to our Services, and the browser software the individual is using to access our Services. Upon request, M27editions will grant you reasonable access to personal information that it holds about you and was collected on our public website, www.m27editions.com. M27editions will take reasonable steps to permit individuals to correct, amend, or delete information about them that is shown to be inaccurate or incomplete. For access to information collected on one of our Customer-hosted sites, you should request access via the Institution directly and we will support them in providing you reasonable access to this information.

In addition, M27editions allows users to modify the level of communications that you receive related to our Services.  You may contact our Support Team through our support portal to obtain current information about how to modify the types of information that you receive from M27editions.

7. onward transfer of information.

M27editions will not disclose any personally identifiable information to a third party who is not a M27editions contractor or agent (“Agent”) except as outlined above. For third parties acting as M27editions’s Agent, M27editions will ascertain that the third party subscribes to the Privacy Shield principles, is subject to the EU Data Protection Directive, or has entered into an agreement with M27editions that is consistent with the Privacy Shield principles.

In the context of an onward transfer, M27editions has responsibility for the processing of personal information it receives under the Privacy Shield and subsequently transfers to an Agent on its behalf. M27editions shall remain liable under the Privacy Shield principles if its Agent processes such personal information in a manner inconsistent with such principles, unless M27editions proves that it is not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.

8. SECURITY.

M27editions takes reasonable technical, administrative and physical measures to protect the security of your personal information from unauthorized use, disclosure and alteration.

When you place orders or access your personal account information, you're utilizing a secure connection via SSL, which encrypts your personal information before it's sent over the Internet.

M27editions provides information and training to all employees who have access to personally identifiable data maintained by M27editions, and M27editions employees are responsible for the internal security of such information.

M27editions will not process personally identifiable information in any way that is incompatible or inconsistent with the purpose for which such information was collected.
M27editions takes all reasonable measures to ensure that such information is reliable for its intended use, and is accurate, complete and current.

Inside the company, data is stored in password-controlled servers with limited access. 

You also have a significant role in protecting your information. No one can see or edit your personal information without knowing your user name and password, so do not share these with others.

9. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY.

M27editions does not knowingly collect or maintain information acquired through our site from persons under 13 years of age, and no part of the site or services is directed to persons under 13 years of age. Any user under 13 years of age should not use or access our site at any time or in any manner. If M27editions learns that personally identifiable information of persons less than 13 years of age has been collected from our site without verified parental consent, then M27editions will take the appropriate steps to delete this information.

10. DISPUTE RESOLUTION.

Any questions or concerns regarding the use or disclosure of personal information should be directed to M27editions pursuant to the contact information below. M27editions will investigate and attempt to resolve complaints and disputes regarding use and disclosure of personal information in accordance with the principles contained in this Policy. In compliance with the Privacy Shield Principles, M27editions commits to resolve complaints about our collection or use of your personal information within 60 days.

M27editions and you agree that disputes that cannot be resolved after good faith discussions may be referred to the International Centre for Dispute Resolution/American Arbitration Association (“ICDR/AAA”) for resolution by binding arbitration at no cost to you.  If you do not receive timely acknowledgment of your complaint from us, or if we have not addressed your complaint to your satisfaction, please contact ICDR/AAA at http://go.adr.org/privacyshield.html for more information or to file a complaint.

 

11. IN THE EVENT OF MERGER, SALE, OR BANKRUPTCY.

In the event that all or part of M27editions is acquired by or merged with a third party entity, M27editions may transfer or assign the personally identifiable information held by M27editions as part of such merger, acquisition, or other change of control. In the unlikely event of M27editions's bankruptcy, insolvency, reorganization, receivership, or assignment for the benefit of creditors, or the application of laws or equitable principles affecting creditors' rights generally, M27editions may not be able to control how personal information is treated, transferred, or used.
